Hidden Cavern - Part III - Return to the drudges

Having remembered that two corridors were left un-investigated it was unanimous that we return to the Drudge side. Wouldn't be good left wondering did they lead somewhere important, did we miss the point of the quest, even if they lead nowhere it is best to eliminate the possibility.

So when most of the force had shown up - Nae'Blis, Barsun, Kyzz'n, Mhoram and Me - we buffed up and commenced the run to the portal. Of course it was one of those days where every other spawn was Vs or Swarthy matties just to tease Mhoram.

About the time we arrived at the dungeon Jack-d-Ripper logged in so we informed him of our intentions and proceeded on ward. In quick fashion we were clearing the corridor past the room beyond the glittering key door when those at the front decided it was time to run to the left corridor. So we did and ran right into a herd of drudges. Of course since we didn't move out of the corridor into the main room and eliminate those prior to dashing into the left path we had another herd behind us. Mhoram when down and then Barsun or Kyzz'n quickly followed. The rest of us portaled out while Nae looted the corpses and joined us at the mansion. This time Mhoram banned his armor during the buffs and we headed back where we meet up with J-d-R.

This time we advanced out into the main room and slew those drudges and those from the 3 surrounding corridors that came to the cries of help from their pals. Now we were free to advance down the left corridor without our backs being shredded by more drudges. But all too quickly the corridor emptied into a large featureless room, just walls and drudges. Without having to worry about fighting on two fronts those drudges went down quickly so it was back to the main room to take the right passage way.

Where we quickly came to a similar room and drudges, oh well at least now every avenue on the drudge side has been explored and no stone left unturned.

Deciding it was quicker to recall back to the drop point and run back then to fight our way to the exit portal we were soon running back to the portal. Stopping for a few minutes we restocked, from the previously placed mule stuffed with extras just inside the arrival point and rebuffed. Now it was time to start our exploration of the bandie side. Or we would have had Kamiana not just logged in. So Mhoram recalled to the mansion to escort her back to the dungeon as we relaxed for a few minutes.

Once Mhoram and Kamiana arrived it was back into the dungeon and left up the ramp. Where a hostile force of bandie heirophants and paragons blocked our progress, eventually we made enough noise for a champion or two to show up to investigate the racket. Mhoram ventured quickly down the hallway to confirm that there was a dispel trap near the end just as there was in the drudge side. Hastily retreating to the back of the fellow he quickly rebuffed as the rest of us started annoying the bandies, and annoying them is appropriate. Because 30 minutes later we were still annoying them to death but unable to advance any further down the hallway as we just couldn't clear them all before a respawn occurred. As Barsun had to be leaving soon, we decided to call it drawn and return later when the conditions were better.

Fulgar Caeles version:
Bandies aren't as much a threat to one's health as drudges, the darn things just seem to take forever to kill.
