K'rank's, Capt of Linvak Tukal, Errands
Deciding to visit Linvak Tukal, I jogged to the portal at 75.7S, 28.2E from Qalaba'r. The portal takes you directly into the city and you no longer have to fight through the dungeon to enter, of course last I heard you can still fight your way thru if you're old school. Having heard that Captain K'rank was in need of assistance I approached him.
NOTE: once there you may want to consider purchasing Linvak Tukal portal gems from Kifandal the Imbuer (take the passage left of Aurutis and climb the tower) so return trips are faster.
Captain K'rank tells you,
"Here is one. We are collecting information of the varying hides of the Armoredillos. We're looking into ways to create layered armor from their hides that would afford better than usual protection against all different forms of damage. Here take this."
Captain K'rank gives you Armoredillo Hide Collection Bag.

Captain K'rank tells you,
"Put the specimens in this sack in the following order, no need to write this down, we've already listed the order on the outside of the sack. NOTE: as the proper hide is inserted the next to be inserted is listed in the bag description. I'm just making sure that you've been told as well. Small armoredillo hide, followed by the regular hide, the large hide, then the sturdy hide and lastly the plate armoredillo hide. When you have filled the sack return it to me for a handsome reward of no less than five items. Hurry along now."
So off i go in search of the hides.
Sturdy dillo hides are found on island dillos, and the best place i know for them are the V isles just west of the obsidian bridge with luck you can often find 2 or 3 spawns of three within each other on the beach and thus find a hide in now time.
Plate dillo hides are found on those dillo monsters in the dires, which can also be found occasionally in the norther regions of Dereth. Such as around the Temple Guardian of forgetting. Having a portal handy to Mount Naphier, i just go there exit and head south along the coastline till I find a hide.
Large hides aren't that much of a problem as they are often dropped by the dillos found at a fixed site near Yaraq.
Which only leaves the small and regular dillo hides often typically on the rare stony, spiky, brown or spiny dillos in the desert region of eastern Dereth nearer the cities. Here besides rarely seeing the hides drop is the difficulty of actually finding large concentrations of the beasties. Note: once at the Obs bridge took less then 2 minutes to find a sturdy hide from 3 spawns of three dillos. While searching the desert area for 3 hours before finding a dillo carrying a small or regular hide.
You give Captain K'rank Armoredillo Hide Collection Bag.
Captain K'rank tells you,
"Incredible work. You've done a remarkable job in collecting these specimens. I can see that you spent a good deal of time collecting these at the Ma--in the wilderness! Great work! As promised, you are deserving of a fair reward."
You've earned 150,000 experience.
Captain K'rank gives you
Stout Lugian Ale. Thick Lugian Stew. Hearty Lugian Loaf. Health Tonic. Stamina Tonic. Mana Tonic. Trade Note (250,000).
Lord Kresovus rears back and screams a great cry of anguish to the uncaring skies above. "BAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLOOOOOOOO OOOOOOORR!!!!!"
Captain K'rank tells you,
"Come back tomorrow, I might have more work for you then. You come have to aid us, no? Well then, let me see what I have for you."
"Ah, you said your name was Ag Nar, yes? Well it appears as though you've been here recently as your name appears in my notes. We're trying not to overwork you too much, so please finish up what we asked of you and then take some time for yourself. Come back to me tomorrow and I'll see what I can have you do."
Ag Nar
Note: there are other types of hunts for items:
collecting five types of Golem hearts;
Captain K'rank tells you,
"Hail Isparian, I am sorry if I appear preoccupied. I am waiting on a very important report from a spy working amongst the Renegades. His report from the Renegade fortress in the Direlands is overdue and we have seen an increase in the number of camps surrounding the fortress. I should not bother you with such concerns.
You have come to aid us, no? Well then, let me see what I have for you."
Captain K'rank seems to consult some notes. Captain K'rank tells you, "Let me see what I have for you." Captain K'rank gives you Golem Heart Crate.
NOTE: of course any of the Metos dungeons are an excellent source for Iron/Granite hearts. The V isle Obsidian bridge just west of the Jungle Shadow Hub exit is great for Obsidian hearts and if you get lucky a Diamond. Of course the Dires or around the Temple of forget is better for Diamond hearts. Mt Naphier dungeon is of course wall to wall Gold Golems. Coppers well there I'm at a lose for a quick source of large numbers of Coppers. Of course the Temples of Forget/Learn have a room you can squat in for 2 every couple of minutes.
Captain K'rank tells you,
"This one should prove interesting. Our sages are interested in the geomancy that makes the Golems 'live'. We need specimens of the Golem's hearts to continue our study. Since we're used to working with stones it comes as no surprise that we are specifically interested in the different stone and mineral golems. Take this.
Put the specimens in corresponding collection slots. They are listed on the front of the crate for easy reference. Just to be clear however, I will tell you the order they should be collected in. First collect a granite heart, followed by iron, copper, obsidian, gold and finally a diamond heart. Then return to me with the full crate."
You give Captain K'rank Golem Heart Crate.
Captain K'rank tells you,
"These are wonderful finds. I'm going to see that these find their way into our sages hands as quickly as possible. For now, I must get you your reward."
You've earned 150,000 experience. Captain K'rank gives you
Stout Lugian Ale. Thick Lugian Stew. Hearty Lugian Loaf. Health Tonic. Stamina Tonic. Mana Tonic. Trade Note (250,000).
Captain K'rank tells you, "Come back tomorrow, I might have more work for you then."
carrying a wheel cart to Kreavon in Weijhou;
Captain K'rank seems to consult some notes. Captain K'rank tells you,
"Let me see what I have for you.
No, it looks like you helped us with this one.
You come have to aid us, no? Well then, let me see what I have for you."
Captain K'rank seems to consult some notes.
"Let me see what I have for you.
I am certain that you're aware that we assisted in the reclamation and restoration process of Wai Jhou, yes? I was never given to trying to make a swamp city better. Honestly, it's in a swamp. They'll be lucky if that town doesn't fall down, sink into the swamp, then burn and sink into the swamp before a real city thrives there. I'm sorry, got a little off topic. We have a worker stationed there, Kreavon. NOTE: Kreavon was of course one of the three collectors for the Candeth Keep Co-founders quest.
Kreavon is responsible for collecting minerals, they can get quite heavy over time. We've crafted this wheelcart for his use. Would you mind brining it to him?"
Captain K'rank gives you Wheel Cart. Captain K'rank tells you,
"Wait for Kreavon to fill the cart, then return it to me for a fair reward."
You give Kreavon Wheel Cart.

Kreavon tells you,
"Ahh, my friend K'rank finally got around to sending someone to collect the most recent collections, eh? Well, I hope your back is strong Isparian. This load would make the stoutest Mattekar whimper."
Kreavon loads several collections of minerals onto the wheelcart then passes it to you. Kreavon gives you Full Wheel Cart. Kreavon tells you,
"Be careful out there, if you get caught and surrounded before you return that to K'rank you are liable to end up next to a lifestone. Give K'rank my best."
You give Captain K'rank Full Wheel Cart. Captain K'rank tells you,
"Ugh! That was rather heavy, you could have warned me before just tossing into my arms like that. Cripes! Nonetheless, you did as I asked, so you are deserving of a fair reward. Here, take these."
You've earned 50,000 experience. Captain K'rank gives you
Health Elixir. *2 Stamina Elixir. *2 Mana Elixir. *2
Captain K'rank tells you, "Come back tomorrow, I might have more work for you then."
collecting five types Sclavus Hides or parts;
take a well balanced Axe to Dryreach;
take Treated Herbs to MacNiall the Unruled in MacNiall's Freehold; or
Captain K'rank tells you,
"Let me see what I have for you.
Not long ago I met a rugged traveler from the Island town of MacNiall's Freehold. This savvy traveler struck an efficacious deal with me, one that I intend to uphold as best I can. I'm to deliver a collection of treated herbs to him in exchange for some information that he has been collecting for me. If you're so disposed to assisting me, bring these herbs to macNiall and return to me with the missive that he supplies you.
Be swift, MacNiall's information is very important to our cause of unity. Hurry along now."

A quick trip via the Jungle Shadow hub and a short run to MacNialls and you are soon in front of the Unruled.
You give MacNiall the Unruled Treated Herbs.
MacNiall the Unruled tells you,
"Ahh, I've been waiting for these. Not long mind you. The Lugians are very prompt in their delivery, nothing at all like the vermin I'm used to working with back on Ispar. Never mind the dogs living here on Dereth. This be for Captain K'rank."
MacNiall the Unruled gives you Sealed Missive.
MacNiall the Unruled tells you,
"Tell 'im that I'm willing to continue this advantageous relationship, so long as he's willing to keep supplying me with these herbs."
You give Captain K'rank Sealed Missive. Captain K'rank tells you,
"I offer you my thanks and the small tokens that I shall give you in a moment. The information contained in this missive may one day save a great many lives."
You've earned 50,000 experience. Captain K'rank gives you
Health Elixir. *2 Stamina Elixir. *2 Mana Elixir. *2
Captain K'rank tells you, "Come back tomorrow, I might have more work for you then."
take Refined Ore to Feruza ibn Salaq at the Beach Fort and return with a Sealed Missive regarding the Stonehold Lugian Olcris.
Captain K'rank tells you, "Though many believe that we Lugian's have either thrown our lot in with High Queen Elysa or with that traitorous dog, Muldaveus."
Captain K'rank spits.
Captain K'rank tells you, "Excuse me... That belief is untrue. Some Lugians actually struck out on their own when Nuhmudira was claiming that she desired to create a grand place of learning. One such Lugian, Olcris, joined with Nuhmudira and started acting very strangely. Well... my reach isn't so short that I don't have eyes on him. In fact, I have a contact at the Beach Fort that keeps up with all his comings and goings at Stonehold. His price is steep, but we honor his price. His name is Feruza ibn Salaq and his price is here."
Captain K'rank gives you Refined Ore.
Captain K'rank tells you, "It's a small price to pay someone for such important information. Feruza's reports and return them to me for a fair reward."
You give Feruza ibn Salaq Refined Ore.
Feruza ibn Salaq tells you, "I see that K'rank is still interested in keeping our deal running. Well, tell him that I am still willing to uphold my end of the bargain. Not long ago, I even saw the blood witch talking to Olcris, making sure that he was well taken care of I assume. She makes me uneasy when she is around. Oh, there's more, but that is left for Captain K'rank to report on."
Feruza ibn Salaq gives you Sealed Missive.
Feruza ibn Salaq tells you, "I'll be looking forward to the next delivery."
You give Captain K'rank Sealed Missive.
Captain K'rank tells you, "Olcris is sure to have been up to something no good. I'll have a scholar look over this missive as soon as I take care of your reward."
You've earned 50,000 experience. Captain K'rank gives you
Health Elixir. *2 Stamina Elixir. *2 Mana Elixir. *2
Captain K'rank tells you, "Come back tomorrow, I might have more work for you then."
Which task you are given appears random (as turbine can make) and you have to wait 24 hours after completing a quest before obtaining another task to perform. |
