So you want to get 'flagged' to enter the Boss rooms for those trophy tokens you keep hearing about. Good news is it is pretty easy to accomplish with the help of 2 or 3 experienced friends. And all the work can usually be accomplished with in 15 minutes or so with as small of a party as three.

But first let us at least give mention to the 'Boss' Arena/Rooms.

Stone Fist - golem, reward is gloves returned for level capped 5.1M

Azaxix - virindi, reward is sickle returned for level capped 14.8M

Killagrug - mosswart, reward is a club returned for a level capped 24.xM

Demon Matron Spawn - Olthoi, reward is returned for a level capped (not sure). I've turned in one after a long fight and think i got about 100M.

 

Unfortunately you still have to wait untill the hour timer expires on your ticket before getting your Xp reward, possibly a coin, and be flagged for the boss rooms. However, you don't have to be online during that 'cool down' period or in the fellow.

How do you get 'Boss' flagged, you ask?

Good question, it involves making it into Arena 8. That's all just making it into Arena 8, no actual killing is required on your part so even naked, unbuffed level 1's with the proper assistance can become flagged.

The trick is, 'your friends' enter ahead of you. Clear the Arena and move into the next Arena. You follow one Arena behind after the last spawn is killed nothing will respawn and you are totally safe. Once they defeat Arena 7 and pass thru door to Arena 8, IF they don't ring the bell no monsters will be spawned and the naked level one can enter and portal recall to the main room (well if a level one could portal recall).

Simple, easy for you and depending upon the level of your friends can be easy for them. Typically 2 mages and one melee don't have any problems getting into Arena 7, where the first problems arise is wave 3 and 4 of Arena 7. A few moments after the Viamont hands spawn four or five human wizards portal in and start spewing out war spells like a traffic cop trying to make his quota of speeding tickets on the last day of the month.

Here if the mages usually stand a few feet either side of the entry door and concentrate on the hands. While the melee stands in the north half of the Arena and concentrates solo on the wizards, deaths can be avoided.

If the player(s) to be flagged are > 80 then everyone can enter thru the advanced door and start in Arena 6. Making it even quicker into Arena 8. However, if anyone is < 80 then all will have to enter thru the unrestricted door and start in Arena 1. Which really won't slow down getting into 8 by all that much with a few strong toons.

I'd like to see some day if it is possible for 2 or 3 of the fellow to enter the restricted door at the same time as 2 or 3 enter into the unrestricted - just for giggles and grins. Which we just did and yes you can split the groups and some go in door unrestricted and others into the restricted door.

Once the flagging toon(s) recall out (assuming they are lower level) depending on the size of your escort party (nearly a full fellow) you could continue on in hopes of making it to room 12 and receiving a Colosseum coin. Two or three escorts and you'll have a rough time getting into Arena 9.

The first two spawns in 8, aren't that bad for a small party - Titanium dillos and Caul Zelphers. It is the last two spawns that usually kill the smaller groups - VoD sentinel shards and crystal lords.

So you are flagged and now want to start collecting your Boss tokens for the xp reward turn in and are wondering what you can expect.

Generically a boss room, if in a pristine condtion, will have a boss spawn - that is a boss with his groupies. Once all those are killed, a 2nd spawn is generated rather quickly. But there is usually a more lesiurely amount of time before the next spawning of the boss and his groupies. Each boss carries ten tokens that are on a 23hour pick up timer.

 

Stone Fist

He is typically spawned with 6 crystal golems. The second spawn consists of about 4 magma golems and 3 crystal golems. Unlike every other Arena room i've entered, entering Fist's arena puts you almost in the SE corner of the room. Fist can be anywhere in the room.

IF running several players into collect tokens, an easy technique I use is to kill Fist first close to the arrival point. Open and close the corpse so others can loot and then lead the crystals to the NW corner of the room for a merry session of patty cake while the others enter, loot and portal recall out. If you are busy whacking on a crystal golem way on the other side, they often won't notice the others arrival (assuming corpse is close to the arrival drop) thus leaving those folks unhindered in their token collection. As a mage with a 370 base racial UA I can keep their attention, even clear them faster then casting war spells.

Azaxis

He is spawned usually with about 6 Virindi, three and three . The second spawn consists of Tusker and several .

Good luck if you are a solo melee. Sure you'll kill it but you may feel humiliated. A buffed 360 tinkered bow, going against an Imperiled Vul Azaxis will often be doing about 100 damage an arrow. UA's about 20 per hit. The boss is just melee UnFriendly.

Here my tactic is to kill the spawn in the center of the room and then drag Azaxis over to a corner near the door. That way his corpse isn't hidden under a stack of monsters and it is easier to spot and loot. If you have several players to loot it is best to wait till after the 2nd spawn is cleared.

Killagurg

Just mossies, both spawns. He has a very high health but isn't melee hostile like his brethen Azaxis. Tactic employed in Azaxis's room works well here also.

Demon Spawn matron

Anti friendly to everyone Olthoi matron. The one time I was in on this kill we had two 250+ mages, a 200+ archer for the entire period and two other folks wandered in late in the game to assist.

Mages stood against the North & south door area firing off tusker fists in this b/witch's direction. Archer was off in a corner as to be out of the path of war spells.

With all that fire power it took over 50 minutes to bring her down. Like i'm gone to rush in and try that one again. I did however see some blowhard over on the Turbine site saying he can slay the Matron in 9 minutes - hence the phrase blowhard. I can tell you he isn't a mage and he isn't an archer, and if he wasn't lying, then he had to be using some very special weapon like an olthoi slayer.

Special Bosses

There are several currently that i've heard of - never actually ben in any of these so don't have much in the way of firm details (YET) - and Turbine's original announcement suggests more may appear. Some are typicaly only active during special occassions.

Cow: rumored to require a tipped cow doll for entry.

Pumpkin or Scarecrow: rumored to require a blue blanket and is usually only active during the October Holidays event patch.

Diemos: must have won the Colosseum ten times and then purchase ticket I believe or is that the Master???. Reward rumored to include a blank augmentation gem (thus making it possible to get 2 a month once you have successfully defeated the colosseum 10 times, as this 'quest' is on a 28 day timer I beleive).

 

 

If you are under level 100, I make the following recommendation for maxing your xp. Do not turn in the tokens for xp trophies, as they are heavy and to mule them you would need a bag of ivory. Keep the trophies in their token form, less burden then the xp reward item, until ready to turn in.

About level 50 one starts getting the max of 5.1M for Stone Fist's glove reward item.

About mid level 60, on starts getting about 9M of the max 12.8M for Azaxis's sickle reward item.

About level 100, one starts getting the max 24M for Killagurg's club reward item.

 

As mentioned above, once ivoryed the reward item can be muled or passed to another toon. That toon can store them or even turn them in for the xp. So if you get two of your toons flagged, One can go in kill the boss loot kill the second spawn and then log out. Assuming you logged out toon 2 at the boss statue outside you can then have sufficent time to log in, enter, loot a token and portal recall out (assuming you not on a 300baud dial up modem). You could then have each turn his/her tokens/items in for xp or ivory one set and pass to 2nd, or ivory both and pass to a 3rd toon.

 

Heck I've got 10 flagged toons on several accounts and using multiple computers and dual logging can easily snag all ten trophies (unless someone else wanders in and abscounds with one).
