Aerlinthe/Lady Aerfalle - Part 0.5 - getting the Pyreal Bellows

NOTE:  The quest is for the most part sequential, in that you go to dungeon X work thru and do Y to then spawn the appearance of Z at another location.  However, there is one setup part that can be accomplished out of sequence, which helps as it is accomplished off Aerlinthe island.  Thus you can do that part first prior to going to Aerlinthe.  Instead of going up to Aerlinthe, doing part 1, doing part 2, returning to mainland to do part 2.5, return to Aerlinthe to do parts 3, 4 .......

This way your trips to the emissary can be limited, unless you die, to just the first trip.  Conviently there are lifestones near the emissarys for those that frequently visit their Lifestones.  Garaena 87.6S 65.6W & lifestone 88.3W 64.5W while Falahda is at 17S 57.3W & lifestone 18.1S 56.9W   This was all detailed in the BackGround/Lore setup for the quest.

This stage involves picking up a pyreal bellows from deep within the Crater Caves.  Obviously a trip to Crater village is required.

Does one really need to be told the easier route would be to have someone summon you a portal.  Falling to know someone with such a handy portal stored on a mule - OOOH OOOH that would be me - means you have two options for getting into the crater.

Option one is to run over to and through the Crater Pathway.  This is a fairly straight forward hope the Zefiers don't kill you dungeon.  I can remember a time when two young mages attempted the pathway and needed the assistance of two more mages to recover the corpses.   Several city housing portals can drop you closer then just running from Holtburg.  Glendon Wood's Highland Manors or Mayoi's Songview portals come to mind as dropping one fairly close.

Option two is to run to the western edge of the crater and enter thru the semi-hidden chasm into the crater. Most of the portals that would drop you closer to this then the two mentioned above are housing portals from within the crater. Thus it will be a much longer run from Highland Manors, Songview or Holtburg then the Pathway.

Of course the east to west passage out of the crater was convient for getting to places before the appearance of all the housing portals made running for hours obsolete.

Not having visited the crater recently I was shocked during this visit to see that the center of the lake had seen volcanic activity and a new section of landmass emerge out of the water.

But we are hear to collect a pyreal bellows and not rubber neck at the scenery.  So time to press on to Crater Caves.  NOTE: if you have done the Undead mechanic's quest and remember where the fan is located, well the bellows is about 50 feet short of the fan.

The arrival inside is usually safe till you run forwand/north to the golems.  Once past the golems you can take either the west or east corridor down to a room with some Knaths.  To the north is the exit we need, and it immediately splits NW, N and NE.  Either the could get you were we need to go but the NE would be a longer route.  Much easier to just go straight North and then west into a large cavernous room.  This room meanders north, then northeast and then finally back north once again.

At the end of the room, you will have corridor/ramps leading west, east and north.  The north leads to the drop point to the lower level.  Due to the size of this area there are of course several different paths to the pyreal bellows but the easy route for me is straight east and down the ramp to a four-way intersection of corridors.  Taking the south it immediately heads down a ramp to the east and leaves you with the choice of a north or south down ramp.  Taking the north ramp down you enter a large cavernous room and want to head east.

Assuming you've made it this far safely past all the Magma Golems and Fire Elements, you want to head to the eastern section of the room where there is a corridor that will lead you directly to the forge area where you can pick up the pyreal bellows.   NOTE: there was originally, as I understand, a seven day pick up timer.  But when I went for this I was able to pick up two in the space of 6 or 7 minutes (the re-spawn seemed to take forever).  So either I was wrong about it having a timer originally, or the timer was removed.
